Job Summary
Instruct and supervise all athletic practices and games while maintaining high expectations for students both academically and athletically. Comply with IHSAA, MSAC rules, regulations, and all FWCS policies including the code of ethics. Work effectively with students from multicultural backgrounds and build positive relations with parents, teachers, and administrators. Utilize, organize, and collaborate with other head coaches and assistants. Obtain or maintain SPB/Minibus certification before the season. Teach at Wayne High School for the 2026-2027 school year, fulfilling daily contracted hours if currently an FWCS teacher, or being available Monday through Friday afternoons starting at 3:30. Maintain a valid driver's license and meet physical requirements including lifting up to fifty pounds and tolerating outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications

- demonstrate a commitment to developing positive working relations with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- maintain high expectations for students both academically and athletically
- utilize, organize and work with other head coaches and assistants
- have or be willing to get SPB/ Minibus certification before season
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to speak clearly and hear effectively in various environments
- Adeptness in the use of hands and fingers
- Sit or stand for prolonged periods, as the job requires
- Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch to perform specific duties
- Close vision ability with the capacity to adjust focus
- Freedom to sit or walk at will throughout the work environment
- Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds or more
- Tolerance of work outside in various weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- high school coaching experience
- Prefer candidate who will be teaching at Wayne High School for the 2026-2027 school year
- If applicant is a current FWCS teacher, the teacher must fulfill their daily contracted hours before coaching
- If not an FWCS teacher, candidate must be available at 3:30 Monday through Friday afternoons
