Job Summary
The Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) provides essential personal care to patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing assistance, and meal preparation. Responsibilities include observing and documenting patient conditions, assisting with medication self-administration, and maintaining cleanliness in patient living areas. Candidates must have state-required CNA training, be at least 18 years old, and possess empathy for patients' needs, as well as good hygiene. The role does not include nursing tasks and requires adherence to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification, if applicable
- Licensed drivers with automobiles to be insured
Additional Requirements
- The Certified Nurses Aide will not administer medications
- Will not take physician's orders
- Will not perform procedures requiring the training and skill of a nurse
