Job Summary
WAVA Special Education Teacher for Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA) Online/Hybrid program sought to deliver K-12 Special Education instruction from a home base in WA state. Responsibilities include delivering synchronous instruction aligned to individual IEP goals, developing and implementing IEPs, assessing progress, coordinating with families, supporting online curriculum and state assessments, participating in PLCs and school-wide activities, and collaborating with teachers and administration to tailor interventions and accommodations. Requires WA State teaching certification in Special Education, strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office; position supports virtual instruction with occasional face-to-face or district-wide activities as indicated. Salary range $60,093–$113,264 annually; remote-work from WA homes encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Valid WA State Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
- An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organization and time-management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, and experience using them in a professional capacity
