Job Summary
Registered Nurse at Watkins Student Health Services provides direct patient care using the nursing process with accountability and independent nursing judgment. Responsibilities include performing preliminary patient assessments, evaluating unstable or complex patient care situations, implementing clinical decisions, utilizing standards and resources, identifying patient teach/learning needs, delivering patient education, documenting in charts, responding to treatment-related inquiries, and ensuring the professional/technical competencies of the assigned unit. The role requires adherence to the nursing scope of practice and collaboration with the healthcare team to achieve quality patient care outcomes. Positions are within an ambulatory clinic setting with duties that may vary by department, and employment is full-time.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Associate Degree Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing - in state in which you live OR Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing - active with multistate in progress with proof of application
- Must have current active multistate state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live
- Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 4/30/2026
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
