Job Summary
Operate a CNC waterjet to produce metal and plastic parts for customer installations, using blueprints and precise calculations to ensure accuracy. Safely load and unload work pieces, move cut material to storage, and perform quality inspections with measuring equipment like micrometers. Maintain the waterjet and other shop equipment, including emptying sediment tanks, while completing housekeeping duties throughout the area. Communicate with supervisors and engineering regarding production issues and provide accurate documentation of all fabricated parts. This role requires 5+ years of metal cutting experience, solid math skills, and the ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree
- formal training in metal fabrication through a trade school or apprenticeship
- Solid math and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of sheet/plate metal cutting experience using automated technologies, such as laser, plasma or waterjet
- Experience with other metal fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, iron workers, rollers, etc.)
- Willingness to work in other areas of the shop as needed
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
