Job Summary
Operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment sites, performing manual fieldwork, monitoring equipment, and making operational adjustments while ensuring compliance with Ontario Regulation 319/08. Act as Operator in Charge when required, oversee subcontractors, lead Health & Safety programs, and assume limited construction manager responsibilities. Inspect and maintain equipment, manage hazardous waste, collect samples, and analyze data for design solutions. Prepare project documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports. Collaborate with Project Managers to align work with budgets, increase involvement with clients, and potentially oversee projects for Arcadis or clients. Participate in rotational on-call duties and work overtime when necessary. This role supports capital upgrades and develops technical skills within Arcadis' sustainable design and engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-5 years or more years of relevant experience
- 8 years being preferred
- Class 1 or 2 License in Water Treatment, Wastewater Distribution/Supply, Wastewater Treatment
- Class G driver's license
- Access to a vehicle
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Valid Driver's License
- Capability of obtaining a CMV Driver's License
- Intermediate customer service skills
- Experience in water/wastewater operations and maintenance planning
- Wastewater Treatment Level 2 certification
- Intermediate knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and GIS maps
Desired Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of Water/Wastewater Regulations, Acts, and Standards
- Relevant vocational qualifications like CTECH
- Environmental technologist certification
- Advanced research, data gathering, and analysis skills
- Advanced proficiency in desktop applications
