Job Summary
Conduct hydraulic calculations, layout structures, and produce biddable reports for water/wastewater projects including pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. Act as the firm's representative to townships, utility authorities, and private companies while drafting proposals for new work and managing regulatory permitting. Provide engineering support to the inspection department, assist with energy audits, and address multiple simultaneous assignments on time and within budget. Proactively identify and resolve problems through detailed analysis. Requires a PA PE license, 8+ years of experience, and ability to work in the field under varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering curriculum from an accredited four-year college or university
- PA PE License Required or Ability to Acquire PA PE Reciprocity Essential
- Professional Licensure Required
- Knowledge of water/wastewater equipment and their purpose
- Ability to read and comprehend complicated construction, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and handbooks
- Ability to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence/reports/specifications
- Familiarity with NJDEP regulations and compliance requirements
- Must have effective communication, management and writing skills
- Must be skilled in the use of Word/Excel products
- Must be able to acquire PA PE Reciprocity
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work in the field
- Must be able to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to use computer
- Must be able to work frequently and for prolonged periods on computer
- Must be able to manage project meeting attended by either staff, clients or contractor's personnel
- Must be able to provide directions and mentoring less experienced staff
- Must be able to simultaneously work on group and individual assignments
- Must be able to address multiple simultaneous assignments, on-time and within budgets
- Must be able to identify problems/issues coupled with detailed analysis and effective resolution
- Must be able to act as firm's representative to clients
- Must be able to provide support to branch offices in NJ/PA/DE/MD area
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be able to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence/reports/specifications
- Must be able to provide effort and take pride in all work assignments produced
- Must be able to ask for guidance/assistance in order to expedite the date of assignment deliverables
- Must be able to produce all deliverables associated with this position
- Must be able to draft concise proposals for new work
- Must be able to perform hydraulic calculations and layout of structures
- Must be able to produce correspondence/reports/biddable documents for arsenic, radium and iron removal water plants; wells; water storage tanks; pumping stations; piping systems; and wastewater treatment plant improvements
- Must be able to assist with energy audits
- Must be able to handle regulatory permitting
- Must be able to verify eligibility to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a background check
