Job Summary
Operate and maintain grounds keeping, earth moving, and specialty equipment such as hydro excavators, sewer jetting trucks, and cranes to repair City water and wastewater infrastructure. Excavate trenches, load construction materials, and perform rough carpentry, painting, and concrete work while adhering to trench safety, traffic control, and hazardous chemical handling procedures. Conduct scheduled vehicle and equipment inspections, record maintenance actions and work orders, and climb tanks or towers for maintenance as required. Participate in on-call schedules for city-wide events and emergencies. This role supports the Public Works Division in maintaining water distribution and sewer collection systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have a valid "B" Texas Commercial driver's license or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of hire
- Must have TCEQ Class "I" Wastewater Collection Operator License within one (1) year of hire
- Must have TCEQ Class "D" Water Operator License within one (1) year of hire
