Job Summary

Operate and maintain InnServices water treatment systems and distribution networks, controlling production, water quality, and public safety compliance. Conduct daily facility rounds to analyze, monitor, and record chemical usage, supply volumes, reservoir levels, and operational parameters. Perform flushing, repairs, and inspections on water mains, hydrants, and valves while ensuring wells, pumps, and diesel generators remain in good condition. Execute utility locates of underground piping using engineering and digital drawings to prevent service disruptions. Maintain assigned vehicles and tools in operating order. Act as the Operator in Overall Responsibility/Supervisor when requested and participate in mandatory overtime, on-call rotations, and weekend work. Liaise with municipalities, government agencies, and the public to handle customer complaints and promote high standards of service.

Required Qualifications

  • Community College diploma in a related field (such as; Civil Engineering, Water, Water, or Environmental studies) or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a water distribution and water treatment environment
  • MECP Class І (1) Certification required in Water Treatment
  • MECP Class І (1) Water Distribution and Supply Subsystem
  • thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), MECP Regulations and Operating Guidelines plus any other legislation relevant to the duties
  • Computer literacy utilizing word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, SCADA, GIS Mapping, Programmable Logic Controls and the Internet
  • Excellent interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, communication, presentation, public/media relations and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, be detailed oriented and accurate
  • Ability to gather, analyze and present data
  • Ability to interact effectively and courteously with all levels of staff and contacts in a Customer Service focused environment
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Valid Class 'G' Driver's license
  • Availability to attend evening meetings or other events, if necessary

Desired Qualifications

  • Water meter installer's license or equivalent plumber's license, as issued by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
  • DZ License
  • Ability to effectively lead and coach others
