Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee pilot studies and condition assessments of water infrastructure. Perform process technology evaluations to satisfy safe drinking water regulations and deliver concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for water treatment plant upgrades and distribution systems. Coordinate with civil, hydraulic, and mechanical disciplines while guiding architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and I&C aspects. Assess marketplace trends to support business development activities and mentor junior water process and design staff. Participate in local and national professional organizations by attending and presenting at conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/or education
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with planning, design, construction, and operation of water-related projects, including supply, treatment, pumping station, storage, and distribution / transmission
- Strong knowledge of water design codes, standards, and regulations
- Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment
- Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
- Self-starter and ability to take initiative
- Experienced technical writer
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water planning and design
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing
- Strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives
