Water Treatment Technical Leader

Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee pilot studies, condition assessments of water infrastructure, and process technology evaluations to satisfy safe drinking water regulations. Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for water treatment plant upgrades and distribution projects, including pumping stations and transmission mains, while coordinating with civil, hydraulic, and mechanical disciplines. Mentor junior staff on water process and design, assess marketplace trends to support business development strategies, and engage with local and national professional organizations. Participate in conferences and present findings to advance industry knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/or education
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with planning, design, construction, and operation of water-related projects, including supply, treatment, pumping station, storage, and distribution / transmission
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing
- Strong knowledge of water design codes, standards, and regulations
- Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment
- Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
- Self-starter and ability to take initiative
- Experienced technical writer
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water planning and design
