Job Summary
Operate and maintain the Texarkana Water Utilities Public Water System (PWS) at the GPI-Texarkana Mill in compliance with state/federal drinking water regulations. Monitor the treatment process in the control room, adjust chemical dosages, trend and analyze water quality parameters (e.g., residual chlorine, pH, temperature), collect samples, prepare daily logs/reports for mill and regulatory agencies, inspect equipment, perform housekeeping, and respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work rotating shifts; collaborate with supervision and maintenance to ensure safe, compliant water treatment at the mill and for local communities.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Class B Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator’s license
- Knowledge of mill safety policies and procedures
- Proficient in basic computer use
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must pass drug test and background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Work rotating shift schedule
- Work in adverse environmental conditions
