Job Summary
The Water Safety Instructor will maintain clear communication with staff and participants while enforcing pool rules and administering first aid as needed. Key responsibilities include teaching swim lessons to various age groups, developing aquatic lesson plans, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Candidates must possess current certifications from the American Red Cross, be at least 16 years old, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with children and handle emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of current certificates in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
- Possession of current certificates in Water Safety Instructor
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be in good physical and mental health
- Ability to perform each skill/stroke to the level 4 criteria
- Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages
- Ability to use appropriate positive discipline consistently
- Dependability
- Ability to handle security and crisis situations calmly
- Ability to seek supervision and use it consistently
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
