Job Summary
Water Resources Technician I supports the Town of Palm Beach by installing, maintaining, and repairing sanitary and storm sewer systems, pumping stations, and related structures under general supervision. Responsibilities include operating light and heavy equipment (including Jet trucks, TV inspection equipment, portable power tools), inspecting and maintaining sewer systems, recording activities, driving trucks of various sizes, and performing labor in construction and maintenance projects such as pavement cutting, ditch digging, and pipe cleaning. The role requires graduation from high school or GED, at least 1 year of related experience, and the ability to obtain a Class B Florida CDL with Tanker endorsement within 6 months. The position may require after-hours and holiday emergency response, and involves operating CCTV inspection equipment for sanitary and storm main lines and using related tools and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience in construction and maintenance related to sewers, manholes, pump stations and collection systems operations
- Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Class B Florida State CDL License with Tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire
- Required to respond to emergency calls after-hours and on holidays
- Knowledge and ability to operate CCTV inspection equipment for Sanitary and Storm Main Lines
- Required knowledge of tools, equipment, pumps, basic traffic control and methods used in sewer maintenance work; including pumps, compressors, generators, hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radios, sewer video equipment, safety equipment, or similarly related field.
