Water Resources Engineer

Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate engineering activities within the Water Resources team, including design, analysis, and field investigations for public utility projects. Supervise assigned personnel while performing technical reviews of water resource projects, utilities, and infrastructure systems. Conduct field surveys to collect data, verify conditions, and support project development. Prepare technical drawings, plans, and specifications; develop cost estimates, schedules, and project documentation. Evaluate data to recommend design adjustments or process improvements. Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project needs. Ensure all work adheres to safety procedures, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements. Requires EIT certification at hire and PE licensure within two years. Valid driver's license and willingness to perform fieldwork in varying outdoor conditions are mandatory. On-call availability required when project demands arise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of two years of experience performing civil or utility engineering work, including project coordination or oversight
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required at time of hire
- Must obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within two years of eligibility
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, design processes, and field operations
- Skilled in data analysis, project documentation, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to perform fieldwork in varying outdoor conditions
- Ability to work extended hours or on-call when project demands require
