Job Summary
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater planning, flood control, and dam safety projects. Prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications while coordinating with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials. Manage project timelines, execute task planning, and deliver regular updates to team members and stakeholders. Requires a PE license, 10+ years of water resources engineering experience, and a valid driver's license. Hybrid work arrangement based in Denver, Colorado, with a salary range of $100,000–$130,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering with emphasis on water resources
- 10 years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, or water quality
- Experience with water resources challenges in Colorado, including precipitation and flooding data analysis
- Experience with urban and rural hydrologic analysis
- Experience with storm sewer analysis and design
- Experience with open channel and pipe flow analysis
- Experience with hydraulic structures
- Experience with stormwater quality and green stormwater infrastructure design
- Experience with bank stabilization and stream restoration
- Experience with floodplain analysis and mapping
- Experience with dam break analysis
- Experience with dam and levee analysis and design
- Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling approaches and commonly used software
- Experience with proposal development, client management, and business development
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
- Ability to work in an office environment
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proven task or project management skills
- Willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy environment that encourages self-initiative

Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in civil or environmental engineering with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, and/or water quality
- 11+ years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, and/or water quality
- Experience with Western water rights
