Job Summary

Join Freese and Nichols as an entry-level Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support complex drainage, flood risk, and infrastructure challenges in Texas. Responsibilities include conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, supporting model and design development, preparing technical reports, and participating in quality control reviews. The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, possess EIT certification, and have at least 3 years of relevant experience with software such as HEC-HMS and ArcGIS Pro.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • 3+ years relevant stormwater or water resources experience
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM and/or InfoWorks
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification
  • Experience with programming or scripting (ex. Python) for data analysis, model or workflow automation and result visualization
  • Familiarity with Texas municipal drainage criteria
