Job Summary
Water Resources / CAD Specialist in Worland, WY, combines office drafting and mapping with fieldwork to support water rights, surveying, and water infrastructure projects across Wyoming. Responsibilities include field reconnaissance, GPS surveys, topographic mapping, and creating water rights maps and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map, and ESRI ArcGIS. The role supports water rights permitting, historical records research, and coordination with clients, landowners, engineers, surveyors, and regulatory agencies. Qualifications include degree or equivalent experience in water resources, surveying, drafting, GIS, and proficiency with drafting/mapping software; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; and willingness to travel. The position involves both office-based tasks and regular outdoor work, with potential overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in water resources, surveying, drafting, civil engineering technology, natural resources, GIS, or a related field.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map, ESRI GIS, or related drafting/mapping software.
- Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft 365 and spatial data management tools.
- Ability to interpret topographic data, aerial imagery, and mapping information.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites and remote locations.
- Valid Driver’s License and insurability under company policy required.
