Job Summary

Conduct process control sampling and testing via analytical laboratory work, perform bench-top Jar-Testing, and monitor water quantity and distribution system pressure. Adjust chemical dosages, change chemical supplies, and document operational activities via plant logs and computer records. Monitor plant equipment via sensors and tactile observation, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and handle housekeeping duties. Obtain required water operator licenses within specified timelines. Work rotating shifts, holidays, and an on-call schedule to maintain 24/7/365 operations under an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
  • A driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
  • Good mathematical ability
  • Ability and willingness to take continuous education classes to maintain or upgrade ODEQ licenses
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, holidays, and as part of a rotating on-call schedule to maintain 24/7/365 operations
  • Ability to meet required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass investigative background process, including a hearing test and drug screening
  • Must be able to work 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with an 8 days on, 6 days off schedule
