Job Summary
Water Operator I at Inframark (Danville, VA area) involves operation and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment, routine testing and monitoring of production wells and unit processes, documentation of plant performance (daily flow, chemical usage, etc.), responding to after-hours call-outs, and providing customer service as needed. The role requires a Water License, willingness to work a 7-on/7-off 10–12 hour shift pattern (day and night options), and the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Desirable background includes prior water/wastewater experience, completion of related coursework, and a valid state-specific Water Operator license; CDL may be preferred. The job is located across multiple VA sites (Danville, Rocky Mount, Richmond, Halifax, Emporia, Charlottesville, Clarksville, Altavista, Lynchburg, Martinsville, Roanoke, Blacksburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Fredericksburg, Norfolk, Bedford) with in-person work arrangements and relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Water License/Water Operator's License as per state/site requirements
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred)
- Willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and 24-hour on-call
- Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment operations
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures
