Job Summary
Water Operator I at Inframark: Operates equipment at the Danville water treatment plant, conducts routine testing and maintenance of water/wastewater processes, monitors plant performance, and responds to after-hours emergencies. Responsibilities include operating valves, pumps, motors, disinfection equipment, and conducting basic laboratory analyses; documenting production metrics; ensuring facility cleanliness and security; and providing customer service as needed. Flexible to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) and on-call. Must hold a water license and be willing to obtain any required state/site licenses; CDL preferred. Strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, safety practices, and proactive maintenance. Prior water or wastewater experience and coursework are highly desirable, with proficiency in basic Microsoft Office and adherence to SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- Water License is required
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED
- Willing to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call
- Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures, and safe practices
- The ability to successfully perform routine on-site maintenance and emergency repairs of treatment equipment is essential
- Knowledge of regulatory rules is essential
- Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable
- Completion of water or wastewater correspondence courses is very desirable
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred)
- Water Operator's License specific to state and site-specific requirements
