Job Summary

Operate equipment and machinery including valves, pumps, motors, and disinfection units while conducting routine testing, monitoring, and maintenance of production wells and unit processes. Document treatment processes, facility performance metrics, and daily flow data. Respond to call-outs and after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment, pumps, and instrumentation. Maintain a clean, secure facility and provide customer service when necessary. Willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and 24-hour emergency on-call rotation. Typical schedule includes four 10-hour day shifts with one weekend per month.

Required Qualifications

  • Display a willingness, aptitude and self-discipline to study the required material and meet all prerequisites to obtain water or wastewater certification
  • Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safe practices
  • The ability to successfully perform routine on-site maintenance and emergency repairs of treatment equipment
  • Knowledge of regulatory rules
  • Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred)
  • Water/Wastewater Operator's License specific to state and site-specific requirements
  • Must obtain a Class D license within 18 months
  • Ability to follow manual & operating instructions
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet
  • Basic knowledge of water/wastewater operations

  • Must be able to pass a fit test and wear a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous water or wastewater treatment experience
  • Completion of water or wastewater correspondence courses
  • Basic understanding of water chemistry
  • CDL preferred
