Job Summary
Monitor and maintain the City's water system by collecting, analyzing, and entering water samples and SCADA data. Perform routine testing for turbidity, pH, and fluoride, while manually checking elevations, temperatures, and chlorine residuals at storage sites. Provide backup support for wastewater sampling and analysis on holidays. Maintain physical security and cleanliness of water storage grounds, reporting repairs as needed. Work under the supervision of the Public Works Internal Operations Manager, adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Ability to pass a background check (Criminal, Social Security Trace, Sex Offender Registry and Motor Vehicle records) and drug screen
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others
Desired Qualifications
- Some experience in operational sampling and testing of water
- Experience in computer data entry and using a SCADA system
- Possession of a Water Treatment or Distribution Certificate Level I
