Water / Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Operate dump trucks, front-end loaders, jetting machines, and other equipment while performing manual labor involving lifting up to 75 pounds. Repair water and sewer lines, replace valves, and conduct daily sampling and testing of the public water system. Visually inspect wastewater treatment plant operations, set up traffic controls, and perform tree, lawn, and curb maintenance. Read water meters via manual inspection and radio interfaces, maintain equipment records, and follow all safety procedures. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions with limited direct supervision. Valid Class B CDL required; Class A preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State of Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Class A license
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit, and maneuver in confined spaces
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods
- Ability to walk for extended periods while working with moderately heavy equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to maintain alertness and accuracy while performing job duties
Desired Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, water/sewer, municipal, construction, equipment operation, or related experience
- Any combination of training and experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the job duties
- Ability to operate village equipment and power tools
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Good communication skills and the ability to communicate problems and potential solutions to management
- Dependable, honest, and trustworthy
- Mechanically inclined
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Experience operating equipment or performing maintenance-related work
