Job Summary
Operate metal cutting machines including water jet and laser; interpret blueprints and part specifications to select materials, tools, and fabrication processes. Generate and edit NC/CNC programs using G-code; set up machines for first article and production runs; observe machine operation and verify conformance with specifications using standard measuring tools. Read blueprints and tolerances (GD&T), and understand fabrication characteristics of ferrous/non-ferrous materials and plastics. Possess experience with MAZAK, Auto CAD, Flow Jet, and ability to work with DXF/DWG/PDF files. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Requires high school diploma or GED and 5 years of NC/CNC/laser/water jet experience; safety-conscious with ability to create/setup fixtures and perform inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years working with NC, CNC, lasers, punches, and water jets in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AUTO CAD, Flow Jet and MAZAK operating software and ability to open and view DXF, DWG and PDF files
- High school diploma or GED
- Solid programming skill using G-code format
- Capable of reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, specifications and tolerances
