Job Summary
Lead energizing, fun, and educational group aquatic exercise classes under the supervision of the Aquatics Director. Build authentic relationships with members while maintaining records and attending scheduled meetings and trainings. Ensure a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Possess current CPR-Pro, First-Aid, AED, and AEA Aquatic Fitness Professional certifications, with at least one year of experience teaching group or water exercise classes preferred. Hourly rate of $14.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- Current CPR-Pro, First-Aid, AED, Emergency
- Current AEA Aquatic Fitness Professional or other nationally recognized certification, or YASA (YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant) and YMCA Water Fitness Instructor Certifications
- Ability to conduct classes and activities in and out of the water
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to communicate verbally and nonverbally with the participants in the class
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in specialty areas of expertise is desired
- At least one year of experience teaching group/water exercise classes preferred
