Water Department Manager (Associate Vice President/Vice President)

Job Summary

Lead the Water Resources group in NYC by growing a team of 15 to 20 professionals, executing enterprise growth strategies, and managing business development including proposal writing and opportunity capture. Conduct client presentations, staff project teams with appropriate skill sets, and provide technical support for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects across municipal, regional, and federal markets. Serve as Contract Manager, Project Manager, or Engineer of Record on complex multi-disciplinary projects while championing QA/QC for the team. Collaborate proactively with national programs and Northeast offices to support sector growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree preferably in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in water resources and/or environmental engineering)
  • Knowledge of USACE, FEMA, NYCDEP, NYSDEC and similar agencies standards and procedures for design
  • Professional Engineer License and ability to apply for reciprocity in various states
  • Experience writing winning proposals and leading successful client presentations for New York clients
  • Strong interpersonal and effective leadership skills
  • Experience using H&H modeling programs such as Infoworks ICM, MIKE, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM and others
  • A clean driving record

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Knowledge of coastal engineering
  • Knowledge to perform QA/QC using various standards and checklists
