Job Summary
Ensure health and safety by following policies and acting safely at all times. Collect water and wastewater samples, inspect and maintain sewage lift-stations and piping, and repair PVC and HDPE exterior utility lines. Install lift stations, piping heat trace, and insulation. Perform manual calculations for flow rates and chemical pump draw downs, conduct routine lab tests to optimize treatment processes, and record data on log sheets and spreadsheets. Control and monitor process equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, and membranes. Interpret SCADA and lab data to adjust equipment and coordinate with shift operators. Monitor metering devices, maintain regulatory reports, and troubleshoot operational, biological, mechanical, and PLC issues. Stay current on industry best practices and maintain all certifications in good standing.
Required Qualifications
- Monday-Friday 9am-7pm shift availability
- OT and weekends as required
- Ability to follow safe operating procedures
- Ability to collect Water and Wastewater samples by following proper procedures
- Ability to inspect and maintain sewage lift-stations and all connecting piping
- Ability to repair and maintain PVC and HDPE exterior utility piping
- Ability to install and maintain lift stations, piping heat trace and insulation
- Ability to perform accurate manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, chemical pump draw downs
- Ability to perform routine lab process tests to optimize biological and other treatment processes
- Ability to accurately record data readings on operations log sheets and computer spreadsheets
- Ability to control, monitor, and inspect process equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, screens, overhead cranes, membranes, chemical pumps
- Ability to interpret process control data (SCADA) and lab data against performance standards
- Ability to monitor and record onto daily log sheets unit process metering devices via gauges, computer process control systems
- Ability to coordinate process control adjustments with other operators on shift
- Ability to maintain data for required reports for internal regulatory agencies
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues in Water and Wastewater Treatment plants including operational, biological, mechanical, instrumentation and primary logic control (PLC) issues
- Ability to maintain and stay up to date on changes to best practices, legislation, policies and procedures within the water and wastewater industry
- Ability to maintain all certifications and licenses in good standing
