Job Summary
Monitor and adjust chemical and biological treatment systems to ensure microorganisms break down waste and produce clean water meeting regulatory standards. Perform general mechanical work, including troubleshooting, repairs, and part replacements to keep equipment running reliably. Collect samples, conduct laboratory tests, and analyze data to recommend adjustments for process control and compliance. Operate pumps, motors, and sludge equipment while monitoring SCADA data for anomalies. Execute preventive maintenance inspections and minor repairs, collaborating with senior staff on larger projects. Follow established safety policies, assist with monthly inspections, and maintain first aid and PPE availability. Schedule is five days per week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p., with overtime, holidays, weekends, and on-call rotation required. Must possess Class D certification within one year and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess a Colorado Wastewater Operator Class D certification within one year of hire
- Must have a valid Colorado Driver's license within 30 days of full-time employment
- CPR/First Aid Certification required within the first six months of employment
- Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends
- Must be willing to work in on-call rotation with the ability to respond to call outs within one hour
Desired Qualifications
- related college-level coursework in scientific fields preferred
- Experience performing operations, service, or maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Laboratory experience preferred
- Computer skills preferred, including Microsoft suite and SCADA
- Potential to obtain a Class B CDL
