Job Summary
Wastewater Treatment Engineer sought to support UCC Environmental’s Field Engineering team from proposal development through onsite execution. Responsibilities include assisting in proposals, developing wastewater treatment standards/training materials, executing onsite outage work, water sampling, test-plan development, on-site startup, commissioning and operational activities, conducting jar testing to determine chemical dosing, ensuring timely installation/startup within budget and quality standards, preparing routine reports, maintaining communication with clients and contractors, and staying current with technology while engaging with customers, suppliers, and partners. The role requires collaboration within a team, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to travel. The position emphasizes building technical expertise and alignment with the company’s core values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical)
- 3 – 5 years as an Engineer or comparable experience in wastewater engineering technology
- Experience working in wastewater treatment or a power or an industrial plant or similar environment
- Demonstrated experience in industrial or utility water/wastewater treatment systems
- Hands-on or working knowledge of membrane-based filtration technologies (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration)
- Experience with Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems (operation, troubleshooting, optimization)
- Familiarity with media filtration systems (sand/multi-media/ carbon filtration)
- Experience with Electrodeionization (EDI) systems for high-purity water applications
- Ability to evaluate system performance and recommend improvements across multiple treatment technologies
- Start-up, commissioning, operation, or maintenance of filtration and water treatment systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to travel 25+%
