Job Summary
Design wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and collection networks using detailed CAD drawings and equipment selection. Lead and support system optimization by analyzing treatment techniques such as pH adjustment, chemical dosing, and aeration to improve efficiency. Perform hydraulic analysis of existing and new facilities, making pump selections and evaluating performance. Ensure treated wastewater meets municipal or industrial regulatory standards while managing projects from design to completion. Conduct feasibility studies, develop cost projections, and supervise construction or commissioning of new technology. Monitor operator reports and lab results to resolve operational issues and refine treatment processes.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering
- MS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
- Professional Engineer Licensed (PE)
- Ability to obtain PE license in 6-12 months
- 8 + years of experience in wastewater discipline
- Experience as a wastewater engineer designing water and/or wastewater infrastructure
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
- EPC project experience
- Design and construction of wastewater treatment facilities
- Three or more years leading process design of wastewater projects
- Full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, client service, and quality standards
- Demonstrated experience in preliminary treatment
- Demonstrated experience in primary treatment
- Demonstrated experience in biological treatment including BNR
- Demonstrated experience in disinfection
- Demonstrated experience in hydraulics
- Demonstrated experience in solids processing and handling
- Hybrid work model requiring attendance at one of many offices
- Location: New York or New Jersey
- Full-Time employment status
- Completion of a criminal background check
