Job Summary
Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department seeks a Wastewater Technical Services Manager to oversee process optimization and data management for a large wastewater utility. The role involves coordinating engineering evaluations, developing process control policies, preparing reports and proposals, budgeting, supervising staff, and providing technical leadership. The candidate may provide expert testimony in permit appeals and groundwater-related issues. Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include an engineering degree (mechanical/chemical/process), experience with complex data systems, and several years of project management and process control integration experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree of Science in a STEM discipline or closely-related field AND four years of experience in water pollution control, project management, industrial facility operations and maintenance, engineering or water/wastewater industry technical consulting, INCLUDING two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Possession of current Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 4 Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification may substitute for Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: Engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering disciplines; direct experience with complex data systems; minimum 3 years experience in project management overseeing new process implementations; minimum 3 years experience in mechanical system designs and process control system integration
