Job Summary
Direct daily operations of the treatment plant, pumping stations, and sewer lines while reviewing processes to maximize efficiency. Ensure effluent meets Federal and State environmental standards by preparing and submitting discharge monitoring reports. Supervise, train, and evaluate plant operators and maintenance technicians, coordinating work schedules and managing hiring or disciplinary actions. Collaborate with stakeholders and contractors to plan and manage plant upgrades or infrastructure construction. Requires a Maryland W5 licensed superintendent with advanced treatment experience and knowledge of MDE reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Bachelors degree
- at least 5 years experience as a W5 licensed superintendent in the State of Maryland
- at least 3 years of experience of management and oversight of wastewater treatment plants with advanced treatment systems
- thorough knowledge of MDE Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs)
- experience preparing and submitting such reports in MD for the last 3 years
- licensed as Maryland (MD) Wastewater Treatment (W5) Activated Sludge with Class (WA) Advanced Wastewater Treatment
- License must be at least Class W5 Wastewater Treatment Superintendent
- thorough experience of the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) wastewater systems operations, maintenance, and reporting requirements
- Must submit license(s) with resume
- Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to pass a government background check
