Job Summary

Monitor, analyze, and recommend adjustments to facility operations through observation, sample testing, instrumentation reading, and SCADA usage to ensure compliant and efficient wastewater treatment. Plan and perform maintenance procedures for facility assets, including headworks, lift stations, and clarifiers, while coordinating repairs with maintenance personnel. Troubleshoot equipment problems, respond to emergencies and planned shutdowns, and maintain thorough logs to suggest operational improvements. This role requires a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class C license and two years of wastewater experience. The position involves an irregular work schedule, overtime, and driving a District vehicle.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree or trade certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in wastewater treatment or a suitable combination of directly relevant education and experience
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator's License
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of reporting/record keeping requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot wastewater equipment and processes
  • Ability to perform wastewater tests
