Job Summary
Wastewater Operator I is responsible for operation and maintenance of equipment in wastewater treatment facilities, conducts routine testing and monitoring of production wells and unit processes, documents plant performance and maintenance, responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies, maintains clean and secure facilities, and provides customer service as needed while supporting on-call and varied shift schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Water/Wastewater Operator’s License (state and site-specific)
- CDL preferred
- Willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call
- Knowledge of process control techniques
- Knowledge of regulatory rules
- Experience in water/wastewater treatment desirable
- Completion of water/wastewater correspondence courses desirable
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
