Wastewater Operator Mechanic

Job Summary
Conduct maintenance, repair, and inspection of wastewater facility processes, compressor stations, and utility systems including water, air, and nitrogen. Assemble, install, and repair equipment and machinery using hand and power tools while operating forklifts, skid loaders, and vehicles. Monitor, inspect, and adjust equipment using PLC, DCS, or SCADA controls; troubleshoot problems and observe readings on gauges and meters to register facility processes. Perform sampling and testing to control process quality, maintain operating logs, and report deviations, variances, and inventory levels. Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, manage spare parts and chemical inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance by documenting information and communicating problems. Work in commercial government facilities, following safety procedures and wearing proper PPE. Typical shift is 8 hours per day, M-F daylight schedule, with occasional after-hours work on nights, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Work safely under general supervision

- manage time to complete assignments
- Computer experience including email, payroll time entry and online training
- At least two (2) years' experience in a technical field
- US Citizen
- Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license
- demonstrate a good driving record
- Pass a post-offer, pre-placement drug test

- Perform only those tasks in which you have the required training, competence, knowledge, skills, and abilities to prevent injury
- Hazard and situational awareness for ES&H risks associated with the work
- Perform work safely in accordance with hazard controls
- Report all unsafe operations

- Must wear proper PPE as required
- ensure PPE is in acceptable condition
- Keep office space, operating area, control room, mechanical room, warehouse etc. clean and orderly
- Attend all safety meetings

Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in specialized technology applicable to water treatment facility
- safety training equivalent to OSHA 10
- Knowledge of equipment and types of chemicals used in water treatment
- Five years journeyman level experience in a relevant field
- equivalent experience in a commercial or industrial facility
- broad knowledge of other disciplines
- Proficiency with Microsoft products
- Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Familiar with laboratory operations
