Job Summary
Lead wastewater operator role overseeing day-to-day monitoring and operation of treatment equipment, field tests, chemical dosing, data logging, and minor maintenance under the direction of the Project Manager. Responsibilities include operating equipment via panels and PLCs, performing routine lab tests and calibrations, preparing chemical solutions, sampling water and wastewater, troubleshooting equipment, following process control procedures, supervising and training Operator in Training and Operator I, and ensuring safety and compliance with permit standards; requires MA Grade 6C license, valid driver’s license, and three years of experience in water/wastewater treatment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- MA Grade 6C Wastewater Operators license
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Three years of experience in water/wastewater treatment
- Working knowledge of process controls and computer programs for process controls
- Ability to diagnose plant-wide process problems and troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to read, math, write, and verbally communicate effectively
- Ability to supervise subordinates and coordinate with project leader
- Safety training and ability to follow safety, operating and emergency procedures
