Job Summary

Operate the water reclamation facility to ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations while monitoring treatment process efficiency. Troubleshoot and maintain industrial equipment including pumps, motors, and valves, alongside performing general facility maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, and landscaping. Conduct water quality monitoring and sampling, perform laboratory analysis, and maintain required documentation for regulatory entities. Respond to emergency situations and manage inventory of chemicals and supplies. Work on a rotating basis including weekends and holidays to support 365-day operations, with requirements for overtime and physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and confined spaces.

Required Qualifications

Class D Wastewater Treatment certification or greater
Class 1 Collections certification or greater
Class B / A Colorado Commercial Driver's License
Beginner to Intermediate and even advanced process treatment (MBR Process) troubleshooting skills
RO (Reverse Osmosis) treatment troubleshooting skills
collections line maintenance skills (combo truck and video inspection)
industrial pretreatment
adept mechanical repair and maintenance skills
experience with hand and power tools for working on mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems
Knowledge of chemistry
microbiology
laboratory testing procedures
process control related mathematical calculations
experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA)
computerized maintenance management software
Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Planner)
general database reporting
ability to work independently, safely and execute judgment appropriately
communicate effectively both orally and in writing
review and analyze information and formulate logical recommendations
Class D Wastewater Treatment certification or greater or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Class 1 Collections certification or greater or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
Willingness to learn the I & C (Instrument and Controls) aspect of operations and SCADA programming
Understand written documents such as: Safety Data Sheets, Operations and Maintenance Manual of the Facility, Colorado Regulations 100, Regulation 31 and 22, the discharge permit, and other industry regulations
Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends
On Call Rotations, including weekends and holidays to support 365-day operations
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to climb and descend stairs, ladders, and steep terrain
Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment and snow removal equipment
Must be able to operate District vehicles and heavy equipment
Must be able to work in confined spaces
