Job Summary
Oversee construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to design plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors while reviewing plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and compliance with local safety codes, state specifications, and project Special Provisions. Identify and resolve engineering or construction-related issues, implement best management practices to optimize efficiency, and ensure environmental compliance for stormwater management and erosion control. Review project documentation including contracts, RFIs, material submittals, and change orders. Maintain accurate project records and reports for stakeholders. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field personnel. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering required with 5+ years of experience; Chicago area projects desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of construction engineering or inspection experience
- Excellent project planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders
- Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, local safety codes) and environmental compliance requirements
