Job Summary
Operate the wastewater treatment plant by monitoring chemical usage, water pH, and impoundment water levels to ensure effluent meets regulatory standards. Monitor plant water levels in tanks and ponds, discharge as necessary to maintain water balance, and neutralize BSN effluent acid while operating filter presses. Perform pre-shift inspections on machinery, conducting tightening, lubrication, and cleaning tasks, then make minor repairs and replacements. Complete all duties in a safe, environmentally compliant manner by following EHS policies, reporting unsafe conditions, and assisting peers. Requires high school diploma, three years of related industrial experience, mobile equipment certification, and basic mechanical and math skills. Located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of related industrial experience
- Mobile equipment certification
- Basic mechanical skills
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of material loading and unloading procedures
- Basic knowledge of chemical terminology
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of environmental standards and regulations
- Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear and to work near moving, mechanical parts
- Regularly exposed to wet, humid conditions; frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and vibration; occasionally exposed to extreme heat
- Exposed to moderate noise levels
- Regularly requires grasping, pushing, standing, walking, driving, and reaching with hands/arms
- Frequently requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing or balancing, and repetitive movement
- Occasionally requires sitting, talking, hearing, feeling attributes of objects, and moving up and down from/to a sitting position on the floor
- Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds
