Waste Management & Transportation Specialist II

Job Summary
Develop and implement waste management and transportation programs for the DUF6 project, including inspecting packages for DOT requirements and conducting modified cylinder inspections. Direct loading and shipment of hydrofluoric acid via truck and rail, preparing necessary paperwork and coordinating with treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. Perform waste management functions such as tracking, characterization, and storage area compliance, while determining equipment needs and preparing purchase requisitions. Provide training to waste generators, monitor sample data, and prepare characterization plans and annual reports. Serve as the package certifier in support of the waste certification program in compliance with DOE O 435.1. Requires a high school diploma, five years of related experience, and an HSPD-12 credential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) credential
