Job Summary
Develop and implement environmental waste strategies and policies while overseeing hazardous and non-hazardous waste management practices across all waste streams. Monitor federal, state, and municipal regulatory changes to ensure compliance and coordinate with stakeholders on relevant issues. Conduct waste inspections, safety equipment audits, and facility permit reviews, then prepare technical procedures, reports, and all required documentation for shipment and disposal. Partner with operations, safety, and engineering teams to integrate work practices and lead incident investigations and corrective action plans. Manage waste permits, manifests, and coordination with disposal facilities and transportation agencies. This role requires 7-10 years of waste management experience and proficiency in technical writing. Based in Houston, TX, Tampa, FL, or remote, with up to 50% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient technical writing to assist with Waste permit applications and Waste Management Plans
- 7-10 years of experience in Waste
- Plan and Permit writing required
- Specialized training in Hazardous Materials Transportation includes 49 CFR 172, Subpart H, and IATA DGR
- Associated Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) registrations/credentials such as CHMM
- 7-10 years of experience performing waste management activities associated with coordinating packaging, transport, and disposal
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field
