WASH Specialist (DRA Project)

Job Summary
Develop water supply implementing strategies and sanitation guidelines for WV Myanmar, aligning interventions with humanitarian standards and donor requirements. Lead technical oversight for emergency and recovery WASH activities across Kayah and Sagaing, conducting field visits to monitor progress, verify facility standards, and support local partners in developing implementation plans. Manage capacity building by mentoring staff, delivering training on water quality testing and operational maintenance, and facilitating knowledge sharing among organizations. Prepare technical reports, validate data, and ensure interventions integrate protection principles and gender considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of engineering specialization of water and water quality
- Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in WASH programming within humanitarian or development settings
- Experience implementing emergency WASH programmes in conflict-affected or fragile contexts
- Demonstrated experience working with local partner organizations and capacity strengthening
- Experience managing community-based WASH interventions
- Strong knowledge of humanitarian WASH standards and approaches
- Knowledge of WASH infrastructure, hygiene promotion, community mobilization, and public health principles
- Good command of Myanmar & English
- Extensive traveling is required because this position needs to be familiar with context of all project locations and has to provide close supervision and support to project staff members
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree is an advantage
- Experience with institutional donor-funded projects is highly desirable
