Job Summary
WASH Assistant responsible for implementing daily WASH activities, conducting assessments, and supporting the WASH team in achieving project deliverables. The role includes procurement processes, data management, and reporting for WASH infrastructure projects. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 1-2 years of emergency WASH response experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with Afghanistan's standards and policies is essential, along with proficiency in English and Dari.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in community health, public health, social science, engineering, or related degree.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in implementing emergency WASH response.
- Extensive knowledge and work experience in Afghanistan, preferably in the Western Provinces including Herat.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to achieve cooperation and agreement amongst diverse groups with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently and with a calm attitude.
- Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to engage with local communities and government authorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Honest and committed to compliance with all policies and procedures in all aspects of work.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Dari are required, Pashto is desired.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with Afghanistan water and sanitation standards and international WASH SPHERE standards.
- Good strategic thinking and planning skills with eagerness for innovation.
- Good computer skills in basic office programs and engineering programs such as AutoCAD.
