Job Summary
Part-time Retail Clerk position with a specialty fishing gear brand. Provide expert product recommendations to anglers, process transactions, handle returns and warranty needs, and assist with stocking, merchandising, and conservation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities with active listening and win-win outcomes
- Ability to multitask and balance variable workload
- Technical aptitude with inventory management systems and Excel
- Experience using systems to track orders, returns, and inventory
- Ability to quickly learn and understand the full product line and explain Simms products
- Ability to perform retail transactions accurately using a POS system
- Ability to collaborate with peers and supervisors to maintain a collaborative working relationship
- Customer-facing retail experience
- Willingness to participate in conservation, sustainability, and JEDI initiatives
- Professionalism and strong focus on customer service
- Knowledge of fishing gear and the Simms product line, with ability to recommend appropriately
Desired Qualifications
- Prior outdoor/sporting goods retail experience
- Familiarity with Simms products or fishing gear
- Experience with additional inventory tools beyond Excel
- Interest in conservation initiatives
