Job Summary
Warranty Clerk responsibilities include booking warranty repair orders and submitting manufacturer warranty claims, maintaining receivables schedules, coordinating with technicians, service writers, and supervisors, liaising with vendors and manufacturers to ensure timely receipt and shipment of replacement parts, defining the scope of warranty claims with Service Advisors, processing warranty paperwork for proper documentation and criteria, arranging parts shipments to factories or distributors, reconciling warranty receivables with the accounting department, tracking service and customer records per warrantor requirements, staying informed on factory recalls and procedures, building positive relationships with warranty representatives and aftermarket warranty contacts, reviewing warranty orders for accuracy, coding labor operations and failure codes on orders, ensuring deductibles are collected at repair completion, reviewing returned/rejected claims for resubmission, maintaining a record of all claims and statuses, managing inventory of parts for returns or scrapping, and providing weekly status reports to management while flagging any safety or integrity concerns for the dealership.
Required Qualifications
- Warranty experience preferred
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others and be part of a team
- Proficiency Microsoft Office
- General accounting knowledge preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
