Job Summary
Sort hard goods including electrical, furniture, books, and shoes by store criteria, utilizing pricing guides to minimize trash and salvage materials as applicable. Separate items into sales, salvage, and seasonal categories while identifying high-value or unique pieces priced by management. Price merchandise accurately to maximize value, balance pricing with customer needs, and flag items for potential ecommerce sales. Maintain productivity by meeting minimum production numbers and recording processed pieces. Follow Kaizen standards, safety rules, and complete daily 5-minute workstation cleanups. Perform physical duties involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 80 pounds in a warehouse environment. Weekend and evening work required.
Required Qualifications
- A high school degree (or its equivalent)
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet use
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and price merchandise appropriately
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Weekend and evening work required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of collectibles, antiques or specialized items
- A high school degree (or its equivalent) is desirable, though an equivalent amount of training and experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement
