Job Summary
Visiting learners in the workplace to assess them for NVQ qualifications, prepare assessment plans, and create learner portfolios. Conduct progress reviews every 10–12 weeks with apprentices, ensuring all parties are involved. Manage and maintain learner folders in line with audit requirements while undertaking Health and Safety checks. Liaise with learners and employers to meet programme needs, promote apprenticeships to employers, and maintain knowledge of funding streams. Verify assessment decisions, manage quality of NVQ delivery, and follow verification sampling strategies including formative and summative sampling. Monitor assessment practice to maintain standardisation of judgement and ensure fair access to training. Maintain annual CPD records, participate in self-assessment processes, and represent the company at relevant events.
Required Qualifications
- Apprenticeship Assessor
- fully qualified assessor
- demonstrable background in delivering relevant Apprenticeships
- assessor caseload of learners based within Telford and the Midlands
- Visiting learners in the workplace and assessing them as part of their NVQ qualifications
- Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each candidate
- Create learner portfolios to agreed target standards
- Visit candidates at least once per month within the workplace
- provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance
- Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with company policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives
- Carry out progress reviews every 10 – 12 weeks with apprentices
- Manage and maintain learner folders in line with audit requirements
- Assist with development of the provision to ensure the programme is up to date
- Liaise with the learner and employer to ensure that the learners' needs are met throughout the programme
- Promote apprenticeships and other courses to employers
- Maintain knowledge of funding streams and eligibility criteria
- Undertake Health and Safety checks for learners on programme
- Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirements (including Safeguarding, British Values and Prevent)
- take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
- Promote Prevent Strategy and British Values to all students and employers
- Maintain annual record of CPD, minimum 30 hours (pro rata)
- Participate in and support the annual self assessment process (SAR)
- Attend and participate in meetings with Company Directors
- Represent the company at relevant events
- verify assessment decisions and to manage the quality of NVQ delivery
- identify and address learning and development needs of Assessors
- follow verification sampling strategy to include: Formative sampling Summative sampling IQA – including Employer & Learner interviews and Assessor observations
- monitor assessment practice and maintain standardisation of assessment judgement
- Maintain centre files and up to date records relating to Assessors and Internal verification carried out
- Maintaining records for inspection purposes
