Job Summary
Conduct general material handling in a manufacturing environment by operating a forklift, clearing production lines, and loading/unloading trucks. Identify and transport requested materials to machines, docks, and storage areas while preparing Bills of Ladings and assigning drivers. Check in trucks for cleanliness and compliance, verify shipping orders, and ensure prompt delivery based on loading schedules. Report problems with materials or equipment to the coordinator and manage pallets and bins in specified areas. Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training or demonstrate safe handling in an on-site test. Maintain safety and quality standards while adhering to OSHA regulations and working within a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- Three years of relevant experience (one employer) may be substituted
- Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
- Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Interested in Continuous Improvement and able to thrive in a self-directed environment
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
