Job Summary
Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer returns, then stock and maintain the warehouse while picking, documenting, and packing orders per company policy. Load and unload trucks, safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment, and handle shipping discrepancies or forward paperwork as needed. Identify nonstock, special-order, or damaged materials, store them properly, and complete documentation for third-party carrier deliveries. Inform your supervisor of stock depletions, discrepancies, or safety issues, and ensure security controls and warehouse cleanliness are upheld. Perform other related duties as assigned, successfully complete required safety and compliance training, and assist coworkers in servicing customers.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
- Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
- Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
